In My Hands
In my hands, she is a gentle gentle player, with a squeaky string, an unsure grace and an apprehensive bow
She has an amateurs instrument handmade with quick care and glossy varnish, crafted just for the gentle gentle player with a squeaky string and an unsure grace.
Last night she became a gentle gentle musician, with a string of forte and crescendo and pianissimo, with a confident grace and a bow of season.
"Daughter, can you make the notes not so choppy?" I ask
"You mean, connect the notes mom?, Yes, yes I will" she replies as she does and the bow glides across the strings as the tears stream down my face.
My little girl is playing a simple Bach Minuet at 8, and she is beginning to slip from my hands and ascend into her own as she blossoms into music.
A simple introduction into music and she flies, my baby flies!
Thanks to her Uncle Bubba, her father, and our family for gifting her with her new german made cello and pernambucco bow - it arrives tommorrow:)
